One Simple Life

One Rose
One Simple Rose
Dying by the moment
Petals Scattered
Fallen and Fragrant
And every place they rest
Is Beautiful
Deeply Romantic

They will get swept away
But in the moment
They are glorious
Enticing
Captivating
Halting Time

Like a mist
Dancing across still water
Shining in the morning light
Blown in a slow, steady breeze
Here and gone in a moment
Yet it’s presence enriches the dawn

And vapor
One Simple vapor
Opens the airways
And allows one to breathe
To live
Because one vapor
Was in the right place
At the right time

One life
Fleeting by the moment
Moments Scattered
Fallen and Fragrant
And every place they rest
Is Beautiful
Deeply Romantic

They will get swept away
But in the moment
They are glorious
Enticing
Captivating
Halting Time

Like a mist
Dancing across still water
Shining in the morning light
Blown in a slow, steady breeze
Here and gone in a moment
One life enriches the dawn

And one life
One Simple life
Can open the airways
And allow another to breathe
To live
Because one life
Was in the right place
At the right time

The finite becomes infinite
The mortal, immortal
As one life leaves its impression
In its finite moment of time.

For Today

There is grace for today, joy for today, strength for today, and love for today. There is a purpose for today, a lesson for today, and a hope for today.

The very fact that you awoke to today is proof.

Feeling Broken?

The screen on my iPhone cracked some time ago. It actually cracked only a week after my husband bought me my phone. Since then, everyday I communicate through my broken phone. Every time I do, I am reminded of this beautiful truth: God can still use us in our brokenness. If you feel broken today be encouraged. God can still use you.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Answer the Call

This morning our oldest son tried calling his favorite radio station to request a song. After many attempts with no response he replied to me, “They’re not obeying me.” Surprised, I remarked, “They are not disobeying you. They are just not answering your call.”

At that moment my understanding of obedience was challenged by our eight-year old son. I must say that he was right.

Obedience IS simply answering the call.

I don’t consider myself as defiant to the Lord. Neither do I consider myself as malicious. But am I truly obedient? When He calls am I answering or am I just too busy to answer His calls?

Thank God that our Lord is not phased by busy signals. He keeps calling, leaving messages, and waiting for us to answer His call.

One Star Shining

Consider the size of the world and the size of the galaxies. If every small space in that big, black sky, was filled with a small star shining, there would be no darkness at all. And one shining star can lead a person home.
