Everyday is “Halloween”

What is it about Halloween that so many of us enjoy? Perhaps it is the chance to receive all kinds of yummy goodies simply by walking and knocking on others’ doors. Perhaps it is just the chance to become something new and something different, from who we are, if only for a little while.

In truth, everyday we have the chance to “walk the walk” and be filled with all kinds of “goodies” from the one who knocks on the door of our hearts. Everyday we have the chance to be something new and something different, from who we have been… Not just for a little while, but for eternity.

Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock…”

2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

When I am Tempted to Point my Finger

I can easily identify the sin in others,

and yet I am often so blind to

my own sin.

When I am tempted to point my finger at others,

and when my stomach turns at what I clearly see as sin,

may I ask the Lord to reveal the sin He sees,

in my own life.

May I remember,

that we all make wrong choices.

We all sin.

May I remember,

why Jesus came,

and died.

May I remember,

that his forgiveness,

and love,

is for every sinner,

and not just,

for me.

Our sin may be different,

but His grace is the same.

May I extend,

the forgiveness,

and grace,

that He has extended to me.

May I be quick to point my finger,

at myself,

and determined to change,
